10. Key Monastery, Spiti Valley, Himachal Pradesh
Key Monastery is the biggest and oldest Buddhist monastery in Spiti valley of Himachal Pradesh. It is located at an altitude of 4166 meters above sea level. The monastery has been originally founded by a famous discipline teacher named Dromton in the 11th century. Today it is a home for around 300 Lamas for the religious studies.
